The idea

Oimmei Srls has developed a native mobile app for iOS and Android: Modigliani Livorno. The app will be available from November and free to download on the App Store and Play Store.

The initiative is not for profit and was born with the aim of discovering, or rediscovering, Amedeo Modigliani both to citizens and tourists, of the territory, national or foreign, to enhance the artist and cultural heritage of Livorno.

A digital tool that allows the user to have an interactive and innovative guide to manage in autonomy, easy to use thanks to an intuitive user experience and the familiarity with the app in general. The app proposes an engaging approach to the artistic and cultural world, focusing on the user.

Purpose and target

Amedeo Modigliani is an illustrious Livorno citizen, too little present in the city and often known more for legends than for his true history, even by his fellow citizens. Oimmei Srls wants to answer to this need of information with a digital and innovative tool that can reach different kind of audiences, by origin, age and interest, to make Livorno and Modigliani known to a broad target.

Modigliani Livorno addresses to the citizens of Livorno who want to know or deepen the knowledge of the artist, rediscovering their city trough the significant places of Modigliani’s history. It can also be used by local, provincial, regional and national tourists because it is a tool useful to discover Livorno through a world-class personality. Moreover thanks to the English version the application can also be used by international tourists.

The different levels of use, its ease of use and the high level of involvement, make the app suitable for families, who will find an interactive and dynamic way to discover culture, and also for the youngest people, who will find an engaging approach that remind the video games.

Modigliani Livorno is characterized by ease of use combined with a total autonomy of enjoy of the content, offering an innovative type of cultural visit that takes place with the support of your smartphone, without the need of external tools.
The application is similar to the modern types of visit offered by museums, exhibition centers and international cities: the user, using his smartphone, is free to enjoy the content as he prefers. The user become the focal point, not a simple passive visitor who receives information but he is personally involved.

The gamification is the use of elements derived from the context of video games, and in this app is present with the search for hidden places and objects, that makes the user involved.

Modigliani Livorno is a native app, that is developed ad hoc, with numerous advantages including speed, customization on different types of devices and a better interface and user experience. In addition to the technological customization resulting from being a native app, Modigliani Livorno is also customized from a graphical point of view, thanks to a graphical interface made according to the project and the various devices and illustrations designed and created for project that enriches the various sections.

Positive effects and future prospects

The app can help to increase the number of tourists in the city, bot local, national or international tourists. Through the discovery of the city and the places of Amedeo Modigliani in Livorno, they could stay longer or they could plan to return for a longer time.

The scope of the app covers a large part of the city and therefore allows people to discover significant areas but also to get in touch with local exercises and with the cultural realities of the city.

The app is always available and can be used as an element to create culturale initiatives in the city, which can turn into tourism opportunities and promote the local economy.

In addition the application can be expanded with further cultural aspects, adding new points of interest, content and becoming deeper. Moreover, the app is scalable: it lends itself perfectly to be reused, applying its structure to different content and contexts.
