Life
Modigliani’s life develops on two main poles: Livorno, his hometown, and Paris, the city where he lives and works until his death. In Livorno there are central episodes in his life: cultural education, artistic studies, the first serious diseases. Paris, on the other hand, represents the active and culturally alive environment he has been looking for for a long time, where he finds friends and his love, Jeanne, but not the success.
Career
The passion for drawing is already alive in the early years of Modigliani’s childhood and the mother wonders if her son will become an artist. Amedeo chooses precisely this path: between sculpture and painting, in his short career, he manages to transform the vast wealth of artistic suggestions collected over time and in different places to make them own, creating a unique style that we all recognize today.
